Outside of the restaurant, Annie Lane helped Snowie to a bench to get some rest. She took out a wet tissue from her bag to wipe away the sweat on Snowie’s forehead. The weather had turned cold as the chilly wind blew in the air. Nevertheless, Snowie was drenched in sweat.
Her fists were still clenched tightly as she bit her lower lip. She looked pale and ashy.
“Are you okay, Snowie?” Annie felt a sudden pang of guilt and regret. Maybe she should not have stopped Snowie and let her vent out her emotions. She probably would have felt better that way.
Snowie shook her head gently and stared into blank space with dull eyes.
“Snowie, you… you can tell me anything. You’ll feel better after saying it out loud,” Annie said gently as she wrapped her hands around Snowie’s. Seeing how dejected Snowie was, Annie was very worried that she would fall ill.
