Chapter 98: I'll Be Waiting
Ava didn't say a word, choosing to keep her mouth shut. Natalie started to fret, "But I didn't pack any comfy shoes. Maybe we could buy some?"
"Do you have the cash?" Stacey asked, her tone daring. She hadn't tucked into her meal yet, instead stuffing some handy bread and cookies into her bag. She also had a thermos filled with coffee as part of her stash.
Natalie stammered, "Don't we have a thousand euros?"
"We dropped a hundred and sixty euros on the hotel yesterday. We've still got two and a half days of this trip left. I doubt that'll cover accommodations, transport, and grub." Stacey's gaze was frosty as she turned to Natalie, "Don't you know to pack comfy shoes when you travel?"
Natalie was taken aback by Stacey's stern words, "How much could a pair of shoes cost?"
"A decent pair of shoes could set you back about thirty-eight euros, nearly a quarter of what we're paying for lodging," Stacey's brows knitted together in a slight frown.
Natalie clammed up, her face falling.
