Chapter 277
I remained silent, my expression cold and distant, but Abigail wasn't about to let it go.
She grabbed my wrist abruptly. Her eyes were burned with dissatisfaction as she demanded, "Samuel, what's wrong with you? We haven't seen each other in three days. Why are you acting so cold and distant all of a sudden?"
Halfway through her sentence, she suddenly chuckled dryly.
She asked me coldly, "What, are you going to give me the silent treatment again and leave me without a word?"
Her words struck a nerve, hitting me deeply. I could no longer contain my anger and frustration. Turning sharply, I yanked my wrist free from her grip.
"Abigail, do you even hear yourself?" I snapped. "Do you have a conscience?"
She laughed dryly, her voice rising in indignation, "And what exactly makes you think I don't? I work my ass off all day. Then, when I come home, I have to deal with my husband's moods and try to keep him happy. And you're telling me I have no conscience?"
