It had been 48 hours since Lucia had been taken, and I had apparently been moved as well. I felt dead inside, and if not for Morgana and her gentle presence—seriously, it felt as though she was scared to touch me—I would have spiraled into a deep depression. What was it with me and losing people? I hated it. I hated feeling so dependent on them, and I hated being alone. I hated that no one was beside me.
I gritted my teeth as I was led away. Eventually, I was offloaded onto the back of a truck and shoved inside so harshly that I could barely catch my breath. The truck began to move, and the sounds around me indicated that we were within a city—probably the same one as before. We started to ascend, but I wasn’t focused on my surroundings.
