“I don’t know,” the man told him as he raised his knife, preparing to kill him. “All I know is that my brothers got involved in some shady business. So I’m saying this: they’re from across the sea. The truth is, we’re not supposed to do business with them because they’re from Blood Moon, but my brothers convinced us, and so we did. All I know is that we helped move a few things, a few people, but that’s all.”
“Interesting,” Avario said slowly. “You mean to tell me that you helped move your Luna without even knowing? You’re quite stupid.”
The man whimpered. “You promised you would let me live.”
Avario raised his hand to his lips, shushing him instantly. “My promises are mine to keep and mine to break. You shouldn’t be so affected by it. After all, I would be putting you out of your misery.”
“Where can I find a boat that can take me far across the sea?” Avario asked.
“Better to go back to the main city, to those close to the port,” the man replied.
