"Calm down," Lyra said as she watched me frantically pace the length of the office assigned to me. Why did I have one? I insisted on being close to my mate, and our children insisted on having me nearby. After all, who was I to stop them? How? I asked as I paced. How could I not be worried? For eight years, we’ve been waiting. That girl has kept me waiting.
"She’s not a girl; she’s a priestess," Lyra remarked and smiled at me. "You really have to calm yourself down, Talia. There’s really no need to feel like this. I’m sure it’s just her wanting to introduce herself to you, but I’m sure something came up at the time," she said, rolling her eyes at how dumb it sounded.
"Yes," I said, still agitated. "Something must have come up. Several things must have come up since then, considering the back-and-forth. But it’s been eight years, Lyra."
