676: UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER
ARIEL'S POV
"Luke, why can't you just try to understand me and leave me alone?" I asked Luke in a loud voice, looking fixedly at him and giving him a friendly face. "Honestly, I appreciate what you're doing for me. You're trying to protect me from danger, you're trying to keep me safe, I totally understand. But come on, I can't continue to live like this."
My tone softened, and Luke didn't take his eyes off me. I breathed out deeply, fixing my palms together, looking downwards before I continued,
"Thank you for saving my life, for keeping me safe. And thank you for everything you've done, but it's not just happening. Me and you hanging out, being friends, I just don't see that happening, and I don't want it. Let's forget about each other and focus on the future.
"This is what I want, Luke. I don't want to be by your side, I don't want to laugh with you, I don't want to joke with you, I don't want to bring back those feelings. That's what I want, and I'd really appreciate it if you
