VALERIA I look up at Professor Blossom, opening my mouth to make up an excuse. But I find my mind blank and messy at the same time. How am I supposed to approach this? What do I tell this man? Should I lie and say that we’ve been there all this time, or should I tell him the truth? I mean, he’s the only one who can pretty much put an end to Celeste and her evil ways. “Well?” Professor Blossom coaxes, his mouth pressed into a thin impatient line. “Lying is no good, child. You better tell me the truth or else I—” “We were together,” Stefano blurts out. When Professor Blossom faces him, his face goes red. Almost as red as Auric’s hair. But he just takes a deep breath and says without looking at me, “We were… having some alone time.” I freeze. I can literally feel my body going cold, my cells clumping together with embarrassment.
