The next morning, Marcus met Michael at their usual spot, a quiet café tucked away from prying eyes. The air was heavy with anticipation as Marcus sat down across from Michael, a sly smile playing on his lips.
“Morning, Michael,” Marcus greeted, his tone deceptively casual. “How’s everything on your end?” Michael sighed, rubbing his temples.
“It’s been a mess, Marcus. This whole situation with Kimberly and Gift, it’s… it’s overwhelming. And when you add my mother to the game, things get complicated.” Marcus nodded sympathetically, leaning back in his chair.
“I can only imagine the stress you are going through. Speaking of Kimberly, I heard something quite interesting the other day. Thought you might want to know.” Michael’s eyes narrowed with curiosity.
“What did you hear?”
“Well,” Marcus began, choosing his words carefully, “it seems Jasmine and Kimberly have been getting quite close lately. I heard they’ve even met up a couple of times. Funny, right?”
