Chapter 14

Aside from Elder Young, Gilbert and Daisy also sat beside him in the hall. Gilbert continued to give Leon a cold glare, as the incident in the villa had left a very negative impression on him. In contrast, Elder Young was friendly and even instructed his servants to pour tea and water for Leon, showing no sign of contempt or disdain. "Let me introduce you to Leon, Grandpa. He's the one who saved me last night..." Iris recounted the entire story. "Thank you very much for saving my granddaughter's life, Leon. We will always remember your kindness! It's our belief that a person's grace, no matter how small, should always be repaid in kind. Now, tell me, is there anything you would like? Our family will do our best to fulfill your wishes," Elder Young said with a cordial smile. "Thank you, but I don't want anything," Leon replied, shaking his head. Leon had rescued Iris out of a genuine sense of justice and had never expected anything in return. Moreover, Iris had already helped restore his dignity by dealing with Brody on his behalf at the Civil Records Office. In his mind, they were already even. "Are you sure? Think carefully. Once you miss this opportunity, you won't be able to get it again..." Elder Young's eyes flashed with a hint of sternness as he set down his teacup. He was unsure whether Leon genuinely didn't want anything in return or if he was trying to take advantage of the situation by associating himself with their family. "I'm sure. I truly don't want anything," Leon insisted, shaking his head. Just as he was about to say something else, he noticed something peculiar on Elder Young's face. He couldn't be certain if it was an illusion, but he noticed faint grayish-white aura between Elder Young's eyebrows and greenish-purple tinges at the corners of his lips. Within seconds, an unfamiliar memory flooded into Leon's mind. The grayish aura on the forehead signified a life at risk of death, while the greenish-purple tinges on the lips indicated a serious illness. Stunned by this memory, Leon snapped back to reality. It seemed to be some kind of inherited memory left by his ancestor from the previous night, though he hadn't had time to fully explore it. However, the memory was etched deeply in his mind and now resurfaced as a warning when the timing was right. "Why do you look spaced out, Leon?" Iris immediately sensed that something was amiss and nudged his arm. "Elder Young, there's a grayish glow between your eyebrows and purple tinges at the corners of your lips. It suggests that your health is in danger..." Leon blurted out. "What?!" Leon's words hit like a bombshell, leaving Iris and the others dumbfounded. Elder Young even choked on the tea he was sipping and sprayed it out. "Can you at least show some sincerity, Kid? My father kindly invited you here, and the first thing you do is curse him to his death! Are you trying to provoke us?" Gilbert roared, slamming his fists on the table before standing up. Elder Young's face also turned grim. He had suspected Leon of rejecting their offer in order to gain something more, and now it seemed that his suspicions were being confirmed. Leon appeared to be playing some kind of trick, although they couldn't discern his motives. In that instant, any fondness Elder Young had for Leon vanished entirely. "What's gotten into you, Leon? My grandpa is perfectly healthy. What nonsense are you talking about?" Iris looked at Leon with a displeased expression. "I... I could be mistaken. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." Leon's face turned red, and he immediately apologized, berating himself internally for being so thoughtless. "It's fine. It could just be a misunderstanding," Elder Young's expression softened slightly, but his opinion of Leon had taken a severe blow. If Leon hadn't saved Iris's life, the old man would have had someone kick him out right then and there. Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the hall, and a housekeeper rushed in. "The great Holy Doctor, Graham Elliot, is here..." "Let him in," Elder Young quickly responded. Within a minute, a gray-haired man in his sixties or seventies entered with his assistant. "Graham, please have a seat!" Elder Young greeted him, and several people in the room addressed him with respect and politeness. Graham Elliot was an esteemed medical authority in Springfield City, renowned for his mastery of both conventional and alternative medicine. His expertise in medicine and pressure point treatment had earned him the title of Holy Doctor and the moniker, Pressure Point King!
