Chapter 30

The Jason that I met last night was different from the Jason that was driving me back to the city. This Jason was cold and the distance between us could be felt even though we were sitting side by side in the car. I turned on the radio to feel the presence of human but Jason turned it off without saying a word, or taking his eyes off the road. So, I opened the window instead and closed my eyes as the morning breeze blew into the car.
We've been on the road for the past three hours and I was already starving but I didn't know how to bring it up since Jason wasn't in a good mood
"We should eat something before we continue our journey" Jason said fifteen minutes later when we came across a restaurant and I got out of the car without saying a word because I was scared of saying the wrong word.
I ordered breakfast burrito while Jason ordered bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.
We got back to the car twenty minutes later and the silence once again descended
