CHAPTER 105 SHADOWS
Ethan and Lisa stood on the edge of the cliff overlooking the vast expanse of the ocean below. The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the sky. It was a moment of calm amidst the chaos of their lives.
"I can't believe Natalie is finally behind bars," Lisa said, her voice tinged with relief.
Ethan nodded; his expression troubled. "Yeah, it's a relief, but I can't shake this feeling of guilt."
Lisa turned to him; concern etched on her face. "Guilt? Why? She was the one who betrayed us."
Ethan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know, but I can't help but feel responsible. Maybe if I had been more attentive, I could have stopped her before things spiralled out of control."
Lisa placed a hand on his arm, offering comfort. "You can't blame yourself for her actions, Ethan. She made her choices, and now she has to face the consequences."
He looked at her, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thanks, Lisa. I don't know what I'd do without you."
