CHAPTER 103 DISTRACTIONS
He took a deep breath, struggling to maintain his composure. He could feel Henrich's eyes on him, like a predator stalking its prey.
"I understand the importance of meeting our deadlines, Mr. Henrich. You have my word that the project will not disappoint," Ethan said, his voice measured.
Henrich nodded, his expression unchanging. "Excellent, sir. And how's your personal life, Mr. Jacobson? Forgive me for asking or being too nosy. I trust there are no issues that might...interfere with your work?"
Ethan's jaw tightened, his fingers flexing on the desk.
"My personal life is not up for discussion," Ethan said, his tone sharp. "This meeting is about the project, and I suggest we stick to that topic."
Henrich's eyes widened slightly, a brief flash of surprise flickering across his face before he regained his composure. "Of course, Mr. Jacobson. My apologies for overstepping."
Ethan nodded curtly, pushing his chair back from the desk. "If that's all, Mr. Henrich, I have work to do."
