‘I know, but there was a different healer working for us back then, and I don’t think my father hid anything from her,’ I say, trying to think about that night. However, the harder I think, the worse I feel. It’s almost as though the memories don’t even want to be unearthed.
For a moment I wonder if remembering would truly do us good if it hurts this bad with just trying, but it has to be worth it. It has to be something truly important if I keep coming back to it like this. It has to be something connected to everything that happened.
