I stood before the portrait of my son in my office in despair and my mind gradually wandered to an old memory of ours. We were in the dining room, having breakfast like we used to every morning.

“So you’re leaving the Pack again?” I asked. There he was, seated on the other end of the table.
“Yeah,” he nodded.
“It hasn’t been long since you returned to the Pack and now you’re leaving. The Pack misses you a lot, Cole.”
He smiled. “But I’m pretty sure that my mother doesn’t.”
I smiled. “I miss you a lot, it’s lonely here without you.”
“I miss this place too but then my work can’t be delayed. I just got intel from our spy regarding some movements in Woodland Pride, I can’t miss out on it. It could be useful for us.”
I hummed in agreement. “Still, you should visit us a lot more often. Don’t be a wandering soldier.”
