"Stay close," he whispered as they slipped from their hiding place.
They moved like shadows across the moonlit ground, their footfalls silent. The distraction Vulcan created had drawn the majority of guards to the northern wall—shouts and the sounds of conflict echoed across the compound.
As they reached the eastern entrance, a lone guard remained, his attention divided between his post and the commotion. Lucas caught Aria's eye, a silent communication passing between them. With practiced efficiency, she circled behind while Lucas approached head-on.
"Who goes—" The guard's question died in his throat as Aria's arm locked around his neck, applying precise pressure to render him unconscious.
"Fifteen seconds," she counted, lowering the guard's body to the ground. "He'll be out for about an hour."
