We pushed ourselves to the limit, running full tilt the entire way back. What had taken two full days on the journey out, stopping to eat and rest, we covered in just one on the return trip. My muscles burned, and my lungs heaved, but I ignored the discomfort. All that mattered was getting back to Lyra as fast as possible.
Come morning, we would attack Wolfsong, and I wanted to spend every minute inside her that I could.
With Killian and Julio, Juan's son, at my side, I raced into Moonshadow territory. But the moment my paws crossed into our land, a chilling sense of dread washed over me, seeping into my very bones.
