Chapter 67: The Kiss

Jamie kissed her gently. It was sudden and unexpected and Camden didn't quite know what to do besides let it happen to her. She was surprised by how gentle he was, as if she was some soft, delicate flower that he wanted to hold and cherish in spite of having big, clumsy hands. He broke away, looking at her face, searchingly. She blushed, looking away shyly. "Did you feel anything?" he asked. She nodded, "It's like butterflies," Camden said, which was not entirely untrue. The mate bond felt way more intense though, but he'd obviously never experienced it to compare. "Did you?" she asked, curious and nervous to know what he might say. "Yeah, it's like butterflies," he said with a smile. She smiled and turned to look over the waterfall again. "Thank you for bringing me here," she whispered. "Its so beautiful and peaceful," she added. He wrapped his arms around her and stood behind her, nuzzling down into the crook of her neck. All she could think about was how much she missed Clayton.
