Chapter 106
ANDREA’S POV
For one confusing moment, Kade and I just stood there, blinking at Marissa.
Then Kade snapped. “Is this some kind of fucking joke?” he snarled, charging at her.
I gripped his arm, holding him back.
“You said you would tell us where Nora was,” I said to Marissa.
She wrung her hands, clearly unsettled by the murderous look in Kade’s eyes. “I said I would tell you what I knew.” She shrugged helplessly. “That’s all I know.”
Kade laughed bitterly. “And you think that’s enough? Do we look like fools to you?”
“I’m sorry,” she said. “If I knew more, I would tell you, I swear,” she said earnestly. I sensed she was telling the truth. Marissa didn’t seem anything like her father or sister. I didn’t think she was manipulating us.
I squeezed Kade’s bicep, and he relaxed. “Our deal still stands,” I assured Marissa. “As long as you help however way you can. Can you think of anything else? A clue as to where she went from here.”
Marissa held up a finger and disappeared down the hall.
