Gary thought it had been impulsive of him to mark Xina right away and expose her too soon. Although he hadn’t publicly declared her as his mate yet, the rumors spread swiftly, and it was safe to say most of the supernatural creatures already knew. This was one of the reasons why Gary had been hesitant about letting Xina go out.
However, after their heart-to-heart conversation, where Xina expressed her true feelings, he eventually relented—though not without setting a few conditions she had to follow. Gary could argue for seven days and nights or even years if it meant keeping her safe. He didn’t mind, as long as she remained unharmed.
In the end, after a lengthy discussion and back-and-forth arguments, they reached a compromise that addressed Xina’s safety, while also making her feel more comfortable. If it were entirely up to Gary, Xina wouldn’t have much freedom to move about, even though she was now permitted to leave the manor.
