CHAPTER NINETY THREE – THE ROLE OF A LOVING COUPLE
The next morning dawned bright and clear. They spent their last day at the beach house in a comfortable routine, sharing meals, taking walks, and simply enjoying each other's company without the pressures of their public personas.
As they packed up to leave, Karina felt a pang of regret. The weekend had been like a dream, a brief respite from reality. She wasn't sure she was ready to go back to the real world.
The drive back to the city was quieter than the journey out, both of them lost in thought. As they approached Miguel's mansion, Karina felt a sense of trepidation building in her chest.
"Miguel," she said as they pulled into the driveway. "This weekend... what does it mean? For us, for this arrangement?"
He turned off the engine and looked at her, his expression unreadable. "I'm not sure," he admitted. "But I know it changed things. At least for me."
