CHAPTER SEVENTY NINE –NO NEED TO RUSH PERFECTION
Finally, as the first hints of dawn began to lighten the sky, Karina stifled a yawn. "I should probably head home," she said reluctantly.
Miguel nodded, though she could see the disappointment in his eyes. "Of course. Can I call you a car?"
Karina shook her head. "No need. I think I'll walk for a bit, clear my head."
As she gathered her things, Miguel caught her hand. "Karina," he said softly. "Thank you. For giving us a chance."
Karina smiled, warmth blooming in her chest. "Thank you for being patient with me."
They stood there for a moment, the air between them charged with possibility. Karina found herself leaning in slightly, drawn by the warmth in Miguel's eyes.
But at the last moment, she pulled back. "Goodnight, Miguel," she whispered.
"Goodnight, Karina," he replied, his voice husky.
