CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY NINE – ANOTHER ARGUMENT
As she entered the house, she found Miguel in the kitchen, cooking dinner. He turned to greet her with a smile, but it faltered when he saw her expression.
"Karina? What's wrong?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Karina didn't bother with pleasantries. "Is there something going on between you and Catalina?"
Miguel's eyes widened in shock. "What? No, of course not! Where is this coming from?"
"Don't lie to me, Miguel," Karina said, her voice rising. "I heard people talking at work. About your history with her, about how there might still be something there."
Miguel set down the spatula he was holding, moving towards Karina. "That's ridiculous. There's nothing between Catalina and me. It's all in the past."
"Is it?" Karina challenged. "Because from what I hear, you two were quite the item. And let's face it, she's more your type than I am, isn't she? Glamorous, sophisticated, not pregnant and hormonal."
