CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY THREE – AN UNWELCOME VISITOR
The room was silent for a moment. Then, to everyone's surprise, Mr. Zaslav stepped forward.
"Miguel," he said, his voice gruff. "I may not agree with how this all happened, but... I can see you care for my daughter. Just... don't let her down."
Miguel nodded solemnly. "I won't, sir. You have my word."
The tension in the room began to dissipate. Conversations slowly resumed, the drama seemingly averted for now.
Karina pulled Miguel aside, her eyes shining. "Thank you," she whispered. "For what you said."
Miguel cupped her face gently. "I meant every word."
As they shared a tender moment, neither noticed the arrival of a new guest. A striking woman with long dark hair and piercing green eyes entered the room, her gaze immediately locking onto Miguel.
"Well, well," she said, her voice carrying across the room. "Looks like I missed quite the show."
