CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY –CLOCKING OUT
The sun had set on another hectic day at Eladio Enterprises. Miguel and Karina, both exhausted but relieved, made their way to Miguel's sleek sports car in the underground parking lot.
"I thought that meeting would never end," Karina sighed, sliding into the passenger seat.
Miguel chuckled as he started the engine. "Jenkins does have a talent for turning a simple discussion into a three-hour debate."
As they drove through the city's bustling streets, the tension from work seemed to melt away. The soft glow of streetlights illuminated their faces, and a comfortable silence settled between them.
"Hungry?" Miguel asked, glancing at Karina.
She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Starving, actually. I missed lunch thanks to that impromptu conference call."
"How about we order in? I'm not in the mood to deal with restaurant crowds tonight."
"Sounds perfect," Karina agreed, already feeling more relaxed at the prospect of a quiet evening.
