Later that evening, Karina sat in Elena's living room, a glass of wine in hand, pouring out everything she'd discovered.
"I just don't know what to do, Elena," Karina said, her voice thick with emotion. "The evidence... it's bad. Really bad. But if I expose this, it could bring down the whole company. And Miguel..."
Elena listened patiently, her brow furrowed in concern. When Karina finished, she leaned forward, taking her friend's hand.
"Karina, I can't tell you what to do," Elena said gently. "But I know you. You have strong principles, and you've always fought for what's right. Don't let your feelings for Miguel cloud your judgment."
Karina nodded, wiping away a stray tear. "You're right. I know you're right. It's just... God, Elena, why does it have to be so hard?"
Elena squeezed her hand. "Because nothing worth doing is ever easy. But whatever you decide, I've got your back. You know that, right?"
Karina managed a smile. "I know. Thank you, Elena. Really."
