CHAPTER NINETY SEVEN – THE DELINQUENT KID
Scarlett's heart pounded in her ears as the dust settled in the aftermath of the bull's charge. She became aware of the scrawny teen pinned beneath her, wheezing and trembling like a fallen leaf.
"You absolute idiot!" she growled, hauling him upright by the collar of his grubby t-shirt. His feet scrabbled for purchase as she shook him, fury blazing in her eyes. "Do you have any idea how lucky you are to be alive right now?"
The boy could only manage a feeble nod, his expression a mask of wide-eyed terror. Scarlett noticed the dark stain spreading across the front of his jeans and her lip curled in disgust. Figures he'd wet himself like a frightened child.
"Let's get one thing straight," she bit out, giving him another rough shake for good measure. "You don't come onto this property again, you hear me? You and your delinquent friends can find some other poor fool's farm to torment."
