CHAPTER 49: ASSIMILATION OF THE GHOST
The utility room was incredibly narrow, with no windows. The walls and floor were tightly sealed with cement, emitting an unpleasant odor like rotten fish.
A layer of dust covered the floor, with grey footprints overlapping the bodies of crushed insects. The insects' sticky fluid mixed with the dust and grime, making every step feel uncomfortably clammy.
As the light shone onto the ground, the tightly packed skeletons piled up in the corners startled everyone.
"Things weren't like this when I came in earlier," exclaimed Muni in surprise.
“What is going on! It really wasn’t like this!” Muni was very shocked.
“Shush! It’s scary. Your talking is making scared,” Jordan glanced at him.
The skeletons were remarkably lifelike, with hollow eye sockets seeming to contain the desiccated bodies of maggots, creating a ghastly sight.
“Hmm, Let’s see,” Marai said as she bent down.
Marai picked up a piece, rubbed it between her fingers, then crushed it. Bringing it to her nose, she remarked,
