Chapter 56 : An Ingenious Idea

*Henry* Henry walked up the driveway with Levi and Frank hot on his heels. His mind was still on Mae and her sister. He hated leaving her in such an uncomfortable place, but she seemed to understand. Henry wanted to keep walking more to help release the stress he was feeling in spades. He wished for a moment that Mae was by his side, holding his hand. Just that would make him feel better. But he had left her to deal with her own problems with her sister. He tried not to feel bad about that. He tried to focus as he opened the door and walked through his childhood home back to his father's office. Henry's father was there waiting. He looked more troubled and anxious than he had when Henry left the last time. His office was still a mess and dark. It looked as if Frederick hadn't left the room in days. But he seemed a bit more relieved when Henry and the others walked into the room. "Henry, I'm not sure we can wait any longer," his father started when Henry walked in.
