Marrying the Lockwood\'s Son (Part 4)
"Who else would drive me insane like that if it weren't Adeline that wh*re!" Helen rolled her eyes and said. Noticing how dolled up Zoey was, she asked, "Zoey, you're dressed up! Where are you going?"
Zoey smiled as if she was hiding a big surprise. Then she said in a low voice, "Mom, I'm going out to have dinner with Sebastian!"
Helen's eyes lit up instantly. "Sebastian? Sebastian Lawson from the Lawson Group?"
Zoey nodded, and she looked at Helen earnestly as she asked, "Mom, what do you think about him? Is he good enough for me?"
Helen took Zoey's hands and patted them in excitement. Her eyes showed how overjoyed she was to hear the news. "Of course! Sebastian is the heir of the Lawson Group! Plus, the Lawson family is still quite a notable family in Caulford City. I'll be delighted if you marry him!"
"Yeah. Although they are no match for the Lockwood family, the Lawsons are still not bad," Both Helen and Zoey had the same train of thought. Looking into each other's eyes, they couldn't hide the wide grin on their face.
"Then I'm off to my date, Mom. You can go get your beauty sleep, or maybe even put on a facial mask," Zoey suggested.
"I know. Go!" Helen urged.
Happily, Zoey left.
It wasn't until Helen was upstairs that Adeline came out from the nearby stairwell. Adeline frowned slightly as she recalled the conversation between Helen and Zoey earlier.
If she heard it correctly, the name Zoey mentioned was Sebastian Lawson. Adeline felt so shocked.
She headed upstairs to change into something casual and went back down again. Before leaving the house, she went to tell Rosa that she was heading out.
On the public bus, Adeline took out her phone and sent Sebastian a text message, "Where are you?"
He replied almost instantly, "Venus Hotel. I'm having dinner with a client."
Adeline simply replied to him with an 'oh' and then tucked her phone into the bag.
She got off the bus at the entrance of Venus Hotel. Watching the people going in and out of the hotel, Adeline took a deep breath and walked in.
Walking towards the reception, Adeline asked with a smile, "Hello, may I know if Mr. Sebastian Lawson has booked a room here?"
"Sorry, miss. We can't disclose any information about our hotel guests."
"I'm a friend of Sebastian's. He invited me here."
"Sorry, miss. Mr. Lawson only made an appointment with Miss Zoey, and she is already upstairs," The receptionist replied with a smile with hidden disdain.
Adeline nodded and said softly, "Thank you." After that, she turned around to leave.
She was walking at the right side of the lobby when she saw a woman suddenly stand up from the sofa, and the woman called out in a mellow voice, "Sebastian!"
Sebastian, who was wearing a white suit, walked into the hotel from outside. His gaze immediately landed on Zoey, who was the woman standing up from the sofa. Sebastian waved his hand at her and took a few more steps forwards. "You must have waited for long."
Zoey shook her head and tucked her arm naturally into the crook of Sebastian's arm. "Where are we going for dinner?"
"I've booked a food service to our room. Why don't we head up and eat?" Sebastion answered with a question. His gentle voice was once music to Adeline's ears.
"Sure, whatever you decide," Zoey was no longer that snarky girl at home. In front of Sebastian, she was simply a girl madly in love.
Adeline's eyes followed both of them until they disappeared into the elevator. She subconsciously took two wobbly steps backward in shock. Before she could steady herself, a strong pair of hands supported her, and a deep voice rang right next to her ears.
"Are you alright, miss?"
"I'm fine," Adeline said. Without even turning her head to see the man, she fled from the hotel.
The man was taken aback at her reaction, wondering, "Did I turn ugly?" Yet, not really concerned with an answer, he shrugged. When the elevator arrived, he entered it, escorted by his bodyguards.
