Chapter 89
From a distance, Luther saw Grace seated in front of the computer, focused on her work. He walked swiftly toward her and pushed the door open without knocking. The noise startled Grace, and she looked up to see his stern face.
Remembering the negative news about Casey that morning and Luther's previous defense of her, she instinctively thought Casey might have blamed her again, and Luther was here to cause trouble on her behalf.
She stood up and took a step back. "Mr. Harrison, is there something you need?"
Luther noticed her defensive gesture and was preoccupied, thinking about the child. "Come home with me right now!"
He wasn't interested in playing along with Grace's amnesia act. Grace was puzzled.
What did he mean? She looked up at Luther's always sharp face. "Mr. Harrison, what are you talking about?"
Luther cleared his throat and said nothing further. He tightly grasped Grace's wrist, pulling her outside. His rapid pace and impatient demeanor left Grace even more confused.
