The maid, Nora Pratt, hurried from the kitchen to the entrance to open the door.
"Mrs. Henderson, it's Madam Whitmore and her daughter."
With this announcement, Diana realized that her younger sister, Eleanor Whitmore, and her niece, Bailee Whitmore, had arrived.
Eleanor was married to a factory foreman. Their life was comfortable by ordinary standards, but it was nothing compared to the Henderson family.
Eleanor maintained a decent relationship with the Hendersons. During holidays and festivals, she and her family would visit the Hendersons for meals.
