Chapter 122 - Innocence on the Run
Luke was locked in his cell by the guards, and the cold iron bars clanged shut behind him.
The chamber was small and poorly lighted, the walls closing in around him like a tomb, and it smelled of rot and damp stone.
Damien was put in with a hard shove in the cell across from him, which was nearly identical to his own.
After exchanging a few words, the guards departed the underground prison, their heavy footsteps resonating in the stillness as they climbed the stone steps.
There was only the heavy silence between them for a moment. Luke's head was spinning from what had happened over the last few hours as he sat on the slender bench in his cell.
After his father was taken away after being stabbed and bleeding, Luke was now being held guilty of the crime, and his innocence was at risk.
He was surprised as to how things had gotten so badly so fast.
