Chapter 118 - Return of the Fallen Alpha
Her parents were there in the big entrance hall when Lydia arrived. Standing side by side, Alpha Brannon and Luna Anne gazed at something, or someone, at the doorway with shocked and scared looks on their faces.
As Lydia forced her way through the throng, her eyes widened in shock and her breath stuck in her throat.
Damien was lying on the ground, barely awake and covered in bruises and cuts. His face was pale and haggard, his clothes ripped and smeared with blood. He appeared as though he had been through hell and back.
"Damien!" Lydia shouted, her voice breaking as she rushed to his side.
As softly as possible, she knelt alongside him and gathered him into her arms.
His breathing was feeble and his body was limp. For a split second, she thought the worst. However, he suddenly opened his eyes very slightly and gave her an exhausted, hurt look.
“Lydia…” he whispered, his voice so faint, it required her to strain her ears.
With her tears streaming freely, she shushed him,
