DAPHNE'S POV
I sat on the edge of my bed, my face buried in my hands, tears streaming down my cheeks. The room felt suffocating, walls closing in on me with every breath. Seeing Javion again had reopened wounds I thought had begun to heal, and the pain was more intense than ever.
"Why, Javion?" I whispered to the empty room, my voice choked with sobs. "Why did you have to come back and make everything worse?"
My heart ached, each beat a reminder of the love I still felt for him, despite everything. "I was doing fine," I lied to myself, knowing it wasn't true. "I was getting better, moving on... but now..."
The memory of his eyes, so filled with sorrow and regret, haunted me. I could still feel the warmth of his touch when he tried to hold my hand, the desperation in his voice when he said he loved me.
"I love you too," I admitted quietly, my voice barely a whisper. "But how can I ever forgive you for what you did?"
