Daphne's POV
Sitting in the dimly lit chamber of Xander’s dome, I was lost in my thoughts, my emotions a turbulent mix of anger and sadness.
I could feel the weight of the silence pressing down on me, a silence I had deliberately created by blocking all mental connections with Javion. I wanted nothing to do with him, not after everything that had happened.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sharp click of heels against the hard floor. Amelia stormed into the room, her eyes blazing with a fiery intensity. The look she shot me was pure venom.
“So, you’re finally getting comfortable, are you?” Amelia sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. “Living the high life with Xander and his pathetic rogues. How amusing. I suppose you’ve forgotten all about your real place.”
I turned to face her, my face a mask of calm despite the anger simmering beneath. “And what would that be?” I shot back, my tone icy. “Your little puppet?”
Her eyes narrowed, and she stepped closer, her voice lowering
