Naomi was so startled by this person's sudden appearance that she stepped backward, almost stumbling over herself as she did. The next moment, the intruder reached out to grab her hand, and she realized that it was Amelia, who was looking her up and down as though trying to discern if she was hurt. She relaxed and said, "I'm fine, Amelia. He…he didn't hurt me." Naomi knew exactly what Amelia was worried about, and so she chose to make it clear first before Amelia could even utter a word. Amelia, however, did not believe Naomi's claims at all and instead chose only to believe her own two eyes. She kept scrutinizing every square inch of Naomi, and indeed, she could not find any cuts, bruises, or injuries that could indicate what Scott did to her. Nevertheless, this did not mean that Scott did not attempt to harm her. Perhaps he had, but Naomi managed to conceal it skillfully. Amelia straightened up and shot Naomi a sharp look. "Is that right? He didn't do anything to hurt you?"
