CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE - A DINNER OF DOUBLE-CROSSES
Marcus stormed into the office the next day, his eyes blazing with fury. He spotted Victoria by the water cooler, chatting with a colleague. Without hesitation, he marched up to her.
"We need to talk. Now," he growled, grabbing her arm.
Victoria's perfect smile faltered. "Marcus, what's wrong?"
He dragged her into a nearby conference room, slamming the door behind them. "What's wrong? How about you manipulating our work schedules to stay close to me?"
Victoria's face paled. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Cut the crap, Victoria. I know everything. Did you think I wouldn't find out?"
Victoria's composure cracked. "Marcus, please. I can explain."
"Explain what? How you've been lying to me? Manipulating me?" Marcus's voice rose, drawing attention from outside.
"I just wanted a chance to show you we're meant to be together," Victoria pleaded.
Marcus laughed bitterly. "By deceiving me? That's not love, Victoria. That's obsession."
