There was a smile on Amos' face, but the smile did not reach his eyes. Eudora George avoided his touch. She turned back and sat down on the bed. The two of them looked at each other silently before he turned around and left for the study. His words were obvious. He was not going to let either of them go. He had suddenly become this terrifying man, a man whom Eudora didn't know. However, after thinking about it carefully, Eudora realized that he had always been a scary person, but he had just treated her differently all this while.
