'Seriously, Sav?" Kai asked. 'I thought we already talked about this matter?" he sounded somewhat disappointed and dismayed.
Like I had made a mistake that only he could fix.
Letting my paintbrush drop in the cup, I decided to focus more on the conversation. I was in a good mood and so was he. Everything was great and I don't want to ruin it.
'I know, babe..." I said lovingly. 'We agreed that I wouldn't try to make this profession, but it's better than being a waitress, right? And it's an opportunity I can't refuse. Please understand me…" I said, crossing my arms as I waited for his reply. I was hoping he'd just let it go and agree with me.
But the tightness in my chest remained, not knowing what he would say next.
Without knowing I had already sunk back into myself, like a flower in reverse bloom, imagining the look of disappointment on Kai's face.
