Zion barely registered Serena's presence as his sole focus was on Maeve, who lay crumpled on the ground.
He rushed to her side and anxiously examined her for injuries. Only when he confirmed she was unhurt did he allow himself to breathe again.
In a low voice, he asked, "Do you really enjoy making me worry like this every single time?"
"I didn't… do it on purpose this time…" Maeve replied.
Serena felt like a joke as she watched Zion and Maeve.
"Zion, Maeve, you'll never get me to reveal who's behind this," she said with a hollow smile.
After taking a couple of steps back, she leaned against the railing of the corridor. In a sudden, reckless motion, she tipped backward and fell from the fifth floor.

The sickening sound drew Liam's attention as he searched for Maeve. He looked down and saw Serena sprawled in a pool of blood. Her whole body was drenched in crimson.
