A Stroll with Wolfie
"Wolfie is very intelligent." I pulled Rose out of the kitchen.
"It understands what we say. It won't attack humans, not to mention its family, after it is full."
I patiently explained to Rose.
Carroll came out of the study and asked, "It seems you know wolves well."
"In some way." I raised my chin proudly. "I often played with wolves in the mountains when I was little."
"Oh my! Madam, what happened in your childhood?" What I had said sounded incredible to Rose.
Looking at the surprised Rose, I came up with one idea. "One day, I was picking up firewood in the mountain. After a pack of wolves surrounded me, God appeared and enlightened me. Therefore, I can tame wolves now."
"What?" Rose became slack jawed.
Carroll burst into laughter. "I think you were enlightened to talk nonsense!
"You should be disciplined."
"Madam, you are kidding!" Rose got the hint and complained.
Wolfie, my wolf, lay on the balcony, basking in the sun. He drooled with his gaze at the lawn below.
