Jessie nodded with gratitude. She trusted Clara.
"Where's my daughter? You said you saw her in the room. Where is she? Can you bring her out so I can see her? Is she okay?"
Sarah remembered what Clara had told her. She quickly moved past her husband and son, looking around the room until she saw Clara by the door.
She hurried over, grabbed Clara's hand, and pleaded, "You said you saw my daughter. Can you please talk to her and ask her to come out so I can see her?"
Clara spoke gently, "Ma'am, let's go downstairs and talk. There are too many people here, and it scares Ms. Taylor. That's why she won't come out."
