Chapter Fifty - Chase
Willow smoothed her hand down over her jeans and looked up at me. The moonlight hit her face and showcased her too-blue eyes and her lush mouth.
“You look nervous,” I said.
“More like anxious,” she mumbled. “I don’t know what’s going to happen today.”
I leaned one hand on each side of her and trapped her against the balcony railing. “Everything is going to be fine. Don’t push him too hard. Your dad doesn’t seem the type to fold just because.”
She scoffed. “Who are you telling?”
I smiled and pressed my mouth against her head. “I can sense him coming. We should get to my office. I had Keith drop off our meal. It’s steak night again.”
“Yummy,” Willow said, turning to face me. “At least the meal will be good even if the conversation isn’t.”
I tugged Willow from the balcony by her belt loop, and out into the hallway. Alpha Gerald was getting ready to knock when he noticed us.
“Hey. It’s dinner time, right?” he said, checking his watch.
“That it is,” I said, nudging Willow to say so
