I didn't quite catch it, thinking it was just Alexander's drunken mumbling.
I tried to pull my wrist free, but his grip only tightened.
I attempted to pry his fingers off, but they wouldn’t budge.
Then Alexander whispered again, "Vivienne, I love you."
