Emerald's mind wandered while she considered calling Hailey. She recalled how Lucas, her brother, had bid her farewell. Lucas had believed otherwise, even though it had only been a brief visit. She picked up her phone and reached through the screen with her hands. Her phone was unlocked with a pop. Before dialing Hailey's number, Emerald glanced through her call history and looked up her name. After a few seconds, Hailey answered the phone with much joy in her voice. "Hey girl, how are you?"
