358 ANDY'S GAMBIT
Dr. Andy was the doctor in charge of looking after Keisha at the hospital. He had other patients, but it felt like he had her alone. This resulted from the full attention he was giving to her case. The supportive parents of the black girl seemed to bring out the best in him.
Standing by the large office window, his gaze lingered on the space beyond the glass. His mind was miles away, trapped by the complexities of Keisha's situation, which was both medically fascinating and ethically daunting.
His ethical dilemma was that he found a similar case to Keisha's. It was a young woman who could very well be the little girl's mother. Birth mother, to be precise. He felt she gave up Keisha as a child. He felt this strongly, although it was speculation until he had proof.
The soft buzz of the hospital did little to distract him from his thoughts. Even as he turned back to his desk, cluttered with patient files and medical reports, he still couldn't get the thought off his mind.
