"The other girls?" Isabella asked, her voice sounding different even to her ears.
"Yes, the other girls. I wasn't the only one there, remember?"

"Natalia told me you got a scholarship and went off to college; I didn't know when you left the shelter."

"I was still at the shelter, underground. Natalia always tells the volunteer workers who aren't a part of them that a rescue has gone off to college a few months before the person is sold off."
