Chapter 400: Reunion

Sonny didn’t speak; he just held up five fingers. Yvonne smiled but didn’t reveal his little fib. She noticed that even though this child was quiet, there was something about him that drew people in. Suddenly, Sonny gently touched her finger, as if testing the waters. Yvonne paused, looking into his big eyes that shimmered with a mix of uncertainty and hope. She reached out and gently held his hand. Sonny’s face lit up with joy; he covered his mouth with his hand and let out a small, delighted giggle. He was absolutely adorable. “Why are you so happy?” Yvonne asked with a smile, brushing his soft hair. Sonny didn’t answer; he just held her hand tightly, swinging it with excitement, his eyes filled with admiration and affection. As they slowly made their way back to the school gate, Yvonne suddenly stopped and softly said to Sonny, “You can tell your dad later that you made a friend today, okay?” Sonny nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
