Chapter 21
After Callie left with Jodie, Spencer was left alone in the private room. He remained there until the sky went dark.
Eventually, a waiter came in to clean up and respectfully told him that the restaurant was about to close. He paid for the furniture that he had damaged and then left the restaurant in a daze.
Outside, street lights lit up the dark night.
He turned on his phone. He had more than 100 missed calls and unread text messages.
Some were from Talulah and his parents, and some from his friends. There were even missed calls from the officiant.
The officiant?
Oh, right, he was supposed to get married today. He'd forgotten.
But what did it matter?
The wedding was fake from the start. It was just a show he'd put on with Talulah in order to stop Callie's delusions about him.
He'd already gotten what he wanted, so the wedding did not need to happen.
The thought of all the public shows of affection he'd staged with Talulah over the past couple of months made him feel ridiculo
